aespa have released their latest single, ‘WDA (Whole Different Animal) (feat. G-DRAGON)’, offering fans the first taste of their upcoming second studio album, LEMONADE.
Blending hip-hop textures with booming synth basslines and an addictive hook, ‘WDA (Whole Different Animal)’ sees the quartet pushing their sound into darker, more experimental territory. G-DRAGON adds his unmistakable charisma and razor-sharp rap delivery to the track, marking a high-profile collaboration between two of K-pop’s most influential acts.
Accompanying the release is a cinematic music video that dives deeper into aespa’s ever-expanding virtual lore. Set in a fractured digital world where replicas of the group begin to multiply, the visual explores themes of identity, reality, and online culture. As the boundaries between the real and virtual collapse, aespa fight to reclaim their existence from the chaos of “Complæxity.”
Since their debut, aespa have built a universe centred around the coexistence of their real-life personas and their virtual counterparts, æ-aespa. With ‘WDA (Whole Different Animal)’, the group continues to evolve that narrative while reflecting the increasingly blurred nature of digital life today.
The single arrives ahead of LEMONADE, due out on 29 May at 1 PM KST. According to SM Entertainment, the album will span a wide range of genres including electronic dance, hip-hop, rock, and R&B pop.
Beyond the album release, aespa are also gearing up for their upcoming 2026–27 aespa LIVE TOUR – SYNK : COMPLæXITY, which kicks off on 7 August and will bring the group across Asia, North America, Latin America, the UK, and Europe. Stops in New York and Los Angeles have also been confirmed.
