Atarayo invite listeners into a wistful world of dreams and memories with their latest mini-album Utakata 泡沫の夢は幻に.
Sung entirely in Japanese, the 8-track rock release builds on fan favourites like 'drop 雫', 'moon ship ツキノフネ', and 'I still love you 忘愛', and introduces five new tracks that thread through themes of heartbreak, healing, and hope. It’s a deeply emotional listen, wrapped in the band’s signature melancholic melodies and delicate arrangements.
The album opens with 'Asanagi 朝凪', an upbeat, electronic-laced pre-release single that dropped on 17 September. The track signals a bold new direction for the band, blending bright rhythms with introspective lyrics.
Another highlight is 'Yumeutsutsu natsukazekaoru 夢現、夏風薫る', a self-cover of a 2023 track by vocalist/guitarist Hitomi, this time reimagined with Marcy (guitar) on lead vocals — offering fans a refreshing, nostalgic twist.
“This album was created around the theme of ‘dreams.’ It’s full of lyrics that could only be written because we stumbled and got hurt along the way,” shares Hitomi. “I hope that everyone who listens to it feels they are not alone.”
With Utakata 泡沫の夢は幻に, Atarayo craft an ethereal sonic landscape — a gentle reminder that even the most fleeting of dreams can linger long in the heart.
