BOYNEXTDOOR are back with their fourth EP No Genre. A bold declaration of identity, No Genre is SUNGHO, RIWOO, JAEHYUN, TAESAN, LEEHAN, and WOONHAK's statement of freedom—an embrace of who they are without constraints. To the group, youth isn’t about fitting into a mold, but breaking out of it. This defiant nature, paired with their musical versatility, makes their free-spirited charm all the more magnetic.
The members once again take the creative reins, with JAEHYUN, TAESAN, and WOONHAK credited across the tracklist. Translating their everyday experiences into music, they craft songs that feel both personal and unmistakably BOYNEXTDOOR—relatable, instinctive, and emotionally unfiltered.
The seven-track EP follows the highs and lows of love, from longing and jealousy to heartbreak and its messy aftermath. It opens with the nostalgic soul-pop of '123-78', followed by 'Step By Step', a breezy city pop track that captures the warmth of summer and the wistful feeling of wanting to hold onto a season that’s slipping away. 'Is That True?' brings a playful twist with funky rhythms and lighthearted jealousy. As emotions deepen, 'Next Mistake' reflects love on the verge of collapse, while the closer 'IF I SAY, I LOVE YOU' flips the breakup ballad on its head by pairing self-deprecating lyrics with an upbeat band sound to capture the offbeat, in-between moments of moving on.
Amid this progression, the lead single 'I Feel Good' stands apart. While the other tracks trace the ups and downs of love, 'I Feel Good' delivers a powerful statement that echoes the core message of No Genre: BOYNEXTDOOR won’t be confined by expectations or labels. It’s a bold expression of their confidence and desire to define their sound on their own terms, perfectly capturing the essence of K-pop’s free spirits—carefree, laid-back, with an edge.
In the music video for 'I Feel Good', released on HYBE LABELS’ YouTube channel, BOYNEXTDOOR bring their signature energy and free-spirited charm to unexpected places—starting in a general store and spilling into buses, city streets, and abandoned factories. These everyday locations aren’t just backdrops. They reflect the core message of No Genre, where freedom means letting go of structure, rules, and expectations. The video bursts with movement, colour, and attitude as the members dance and perform wherever they please, transforming each space into their personal playground. With funky choreography and cheeky “rockstar” moments like air guitars and playfully using each other as mic stands, they fully embody the rebellious, carefree spirit of the track. It’s a visual showcase of BOYNEXTDOOR’s confidence, charisma, and energy.
The group was recently named the first K-pop act to serve as global ambassadors for the Men’s Volleyball World Championships, where they’ll perform at the opening ceremony. They’re also slated to take the stage at Lollapalooza Chicago 2025, marking another key moment in their fast-growing global presence.
