'Pasado' showcases IASIM's top-tier lyricism and ability to capture emotion through words. The track follows the narrative of admiring someone from afar, wondering if that person is out of your league, and filled with uncertainty about meeting their standards.
The lyrics reflect this emotion with the line: "Is it wrong to admire someone like you?" With delicate yet impactful layered harmonies that echo the sentiment, the chorus captures the spiral of overthinking saying, "Coz it feels like you’re out of my league, out of my league, oh baby! It feels like I can't pass your standards."
The blend between the lighthearted, fun melody and the incredibly relatable theme of the song makes the track a perfect addition to any playlist.
The five-piece band—comprising Red as lead vocals and guitar, Mikee on drums, Jai on keyboard, Pau on rhythm guitar and vocals, and JP on bass and vocals continues to grow their distinct sound as one of the freshest acts in the Filipino indie pop scene.
