Creepy Nuts are back with another anime anthem — and this one’s a certified hit.
The Japanese hip-hop duo just unveiled the official music video for ‘Mirage’, the fiery opening theme to Call of the Night season two. Merging R-Shitei’s introspective lyrics with DJ Matsunaga’s sleek beats, the track’s eerie energy finds a perfect match in visuals straight from the hit anime.
Since dropping on 4 July, ‘Mirage’ has racked up over 10 million streams worldwide and topped Billboard Japan’s Global Japan Songs Excl. Japan chart — making it Creepy Nuts’ third No. 1 and a record-breaker.
The single is also going viral globally, landing on Spotify’s Global Viral Top 50 and gaining traction in the UK, Germany, South Africa, and beyond. Following massive tracks like ‘Otonoke’ (from Dandadan) and ‘Bling-Bang-Bang-Born’, the duo is riding a wave of international success — and showing no signs of slowing down.
Their upcoming CD single Mirage / Nemure drops on 10 September, and includes both the OP and ED of Call of the Night season two, instrumental versions, and non-credit anime sequences. The cover is illustrated by original manga creator Kotoyama, continuing a tradition from their previous release ‘Daten’.
