World Music Day or Fete De La Musique returns this year for its 23rd edition. Alliance Française de Manille, the Embassy of France to the Philippines, Tourism Promotions Board of the Philippines, and B-Side Productions, have come together once more for the Philippine leg of the music festival celebrated all over the world.

Fete De La Musique kicks off on June 17, Saturday with stages at A-Venue Mall Parking Lot and Greenbelt 3 Park. A second run will take place on June 23, Friday at the Puerta Real Gardens in Intramuros.

This year, there will be over 30 pocket stages all over the Metro to cater to different genres and tastes. Headlining the festival are local standouts Kjwan, Ang Bandang Shirley, Taken by Cars, Apartel, Autotelic, Sud, Jensen & the Flips and award-winning singer-songwriter, Joey Ayala. 

Each year, a French act joins the festivities, singer-songwriter Vincent Dupas a.k.a. My Name is Nobody performed in 2015 and Youtube sensation Nathan Zanagar in 2016. This time, Encore!, a disco-rock duo from Versailles will be joining the kick-off celebrations at A-Venue on June 17.

For the first time since the festival's inception in the Philippines, Fete De La Musique will also be taking place in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on June 24 at the Cory Park Provincial Capitol Complex.

Festivities kick off from 2 PM featuring homegrown Palawan acts with a few Manila bands - Kjwan, Gin Rum and Truth, Bonifacio Republic, Black Wolf Gypsies, Hey Moonshine, Blackstone, Good and Band, Tommys Hound Circus, Whiskey Version, Watching Scenes, Blue Ballz, Jery Brownstone, Team Palawakan, Bugs and Roots, Woopis, Wateber, Rylodia, Raptured Faith and Flipside - on the Main Stage.
