Metalgore band Fragments is back once again with 'DOOMBRINGER', and this time they've got Rod Rodrigo from Vie and Juggernaut on the track, upping the ante in terms of the track's intensity and vigour.
The triggers reflection on the society that we live in in today's day and age. Inspired by the current events of the world, from conflict in the Gaza Strip to Iran and Lebanon, the world is drowning in hate and strife when all it takes is the courage to take action to reduce and minimise the magnitude of these events.
Calling out to the 'DOOMBRINGER' directly, the track is meant to be a visceral wakeup call that lays out all the facts, calling out power hungry and selfish people in positions of authority. However, it also drives home the point that power is not necessary to make action and unity can make a difference as well as it points out how everyday people need to get rid of their violence and apathy and start taking a stand to shake the very foundation of our societal constructs.
The burden of the current state of the world triggers the core question of the track, has the universe truly given up on us? Does humanity have hope of survival? The lyrics capture the disorientating feeling of existing on the same world where this injustice exists in an existential realisation with lines such as, "We already lost this war before it began, I know heaven exists,
but what is this?”.
The track's searing riffs, emotive lyricism, and intense beats are brought to life by Rod Rodrigo’s fierce vocals as he sings with a fiery passion for the change we hope to see. The track transports listeners straight to the battlefields that they only see on the news, putting them in the shoes of those who face that harsh reality each day. Serving as both an accusation and a reflection, the song challenges listeners to confront their part in shaping the modern world.
'DOOMBRINGER' is beyond just another metalcore banger, but a harsh confrontation of reality and our future if we don't reflect on our choices and continue to ignore accountability.
