KIIRAS enter their queen of hearts era as they embark on a carefree sonic journey with their second single album TA TA. With the three-track album, the sextet reinforce their identity as one of the most rapidly growing rookie K-pop groups.
The title track 'TA TA' channels the cheeky vibe of the single album with the uplifting rhythm and bubbly melody of the song blending well with the catchy chorus that hooks listeners as the track stays stuck in their minds long after their first listen. The inquisitive lyrics brim with youthful radiance and positivity as they act as rose-tinted glasses, creating a bright and vivid listening experience through glowing verses such as "Just like falling but I need to focus on, enjoy this moment, come with me now, the whole world is for me."
The accompanying music video feels like it's straight out of a fairytale as it features LingLing, Kurumi, Harin, Kylie, Doyeon, and Roah as they emphasise the importance of having fun. They play games like twister while sharing snacks and laughing together, further emphasising the power of friendship and taking a break from the hustle of life.
The album opens with the banger track 'SNS (SWEET AND SOUR)' that takes fans on an auditory journey as they tune in for the "Starry night show". Depicting the youthful joy and the reality of falling for someone in the 21st century, it describes how each like and impression from their crush on social media has the power to send their hearts into overdrive. The lyrics capture the narrative perfectly as they say, "Your "like" is a signal, makes me wonder if you like me, you keep making my heart flutter[...]".
Following the title track is the closing track on the album 'R.U.T', which captures the frustration of being in love with someone who stays nonchalant no matter how much you show them that you love them. It captures the rush of confusion and yearning to feel them reciprocate the love that you're pouring into the relationship as the words say, "Why would you act like that? Your indifferent reactions make me feel bad all day, even though we're different, different, you seem just like me".
The group further expands their sonic artistry as they explore various genres and sounds, defining their identity as KIIRAS. “KIIRAS represents a new generation of artists with strong global potential.
