Netflix is taking KPop Demon Hunters from the screen to the stage. The streaming giant has officially announced a global concert tour for the breakout animated phenomenon, in partnership with live entertainment company AEG Presents.

The news was unveiled during Netflix’s upfronts presentation in New York City, with the streamer teasing a “live experience” inspired by the world of KPop Demon Hunters. While specific cities, dates, and ticketing details have yet to be revealed, fans can already join a waitlist for future updates.

Speaking at the presentation, Netflix president of ad sales Amy Reinhard highlighted the massive cultural impact the film has had since its release.

“Obviously, nothing has captured the world’s attention quite like KPop Demon Hunters,” Reinhard said. “There were sing-a-longs, Halloween costumes, shoutouts at the U.S. Open and Buckingham Palace. There was even a 25% spike in flights booked to Korea.”

She added that the upcoming tour aims to bring fans “even closer to the characters and the music that they love.”

Produced by Sony Animation, KPop Demon Hunters follows fictional K-pop trio Huntr/x — made up of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey — who balance their lives as global pop stars with secret identities as demon hunters. Their biggest challenge arrives in the form of a rival boy band made up of demons in disguise.

The film features voice performances from Arden Cho, May Hong, and Ji-young Yoo, with singing voices provided by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami respectively. Directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, the animated feature premiered in June and quickly became one of Netflix’s biggest breakout hits.

According to Netflix, the film amassed 325.1 million views within its first 91 days on the platform, making it the streamer’s most popular English-language movie of all time. The title also pulled in US$24.7 million during its limited theatrical run.

With K-pop fandoms already embracing the fictional world of Huntr/x, the upcoming live production could become one of the most highly anticipated crossover concert experiences next year — especially for fans eager to hear the film’s music brought to life on stage.
