The gloves are off. Paledusk have officially dropped the full version of ‘HUGs’, the frenzied opening theme from anime series Gachiakuta — and it’s every bit the riot fans were hoping for.
First teased in the show’s 6 July premiere, ‘HUGs’ now lands in full force: 5 minutes and 33 seconds of blistering riffs, glitchy breakdowns, and dizzying pop flips. Part rock, part metalcore, part sonic mayhem — this is Paledusk at their most unhinged and unfiltered.
Commissioned by Gachiakuta creator Kei Urana and visual artist Hideyoshi Andou, the track mirrors the anime’s gritty emotional core. It’s a storm of chaos and catharsis, with vocalist Kaito tearing through lyrics in both Japanese and English as the band shape-shifts through genres with zero restraint.
The release also marks Paledusk’s major label debut, with a CD edition slated for 17 September. Fans can look forward to a deluxe version featuring LP-size jacket packaging and exclusive Gachiakuta-themed trading cards — including original character illustrations of the band by Urana himself.
