RADWIMPS unlock 20th anniversary era with ‘Tamamono’, vinyl reissues, and massive Japan tour

Celebrating 20 years of making emotionally resonant anthems, RADWIMPS are going all out. The beloved Japanese rock band just dropped a stunning music video for ‘Tamamono’, their first new single in over a year, and unveiled a slate of major releases and tour plans in honour of their anniversary.

Directed by graphic artist MESS, the Tamamono video unfolds in three parts—depicting the beauty, tragedy, and cyclical nature of life. Serving as the theme for NHK's drama Anpan, the emotionally charged track is a slow-burning celebration of human fragility. “My goal was to write a song that is challenging and adventurous,” said frontman Yojiro Noda.

But that’s just the beginning. To mark their 20th major debut anniversary, RADWIMPS have announced:

  • A brand-new studio album arriving 8 October, featuring ‘Tamamono’, upcoming single Meidai’ (out 23 July, theme for NTV’s news zero), and more tracks to be revealed.

  • A special studio performance of ‘Tamamono’, premiered 29 June on YouTube, capturing the song’s poignant intensity.

  • A 20th Anniversary Special Box Set—bundling exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, and limited-edition anniversary goods in a collectible pouch. Pre-orders open in the coming weeks.

  • The RADWIMPS 20th ANNIVERSARY LIVE TOUR, hitting 17 arena shows across 9 cities in Japan.
