Sarah de Warren has long been one of dance music’s most in-demand voices, lending her hypnotic toplines and high-impact songwriting to producers across trance, techno, and house. From bedroom-made demos shared on SoundCloud to releases with some of the scene’s biggest names, the British artist has steadily built a reputation for delivering vocals that hit both emotionally and on the dancefloor.
Now, with a fresh run of releases including 'How This Ends', 'What U Like', 'LICK IT', and 'Girl on Girl', de Warren is stepping further into her own spotlight. Ahead of her upcoming set at MARQUEE Singapore on Friday, 13 March, she speaks to Bandwagon about her early influences, her approach to collaboration, her evolving identity as a touring DJ, and what fans can expect from her next chapter.

You’ve mentioned before that your influences go beyond dance music. What artists or genres shaped your songwriting growing up?
Growing up, I loved bands like System of a Down, Placebo, and Muse, and on the other end of the spectrum I was really into songwriters like Dido and Lykke Li. Looking back, the genre didn’t matter to me. I was just drawn to infectious melodies and lyrics that stick in your mind.
You’ve built a strong reputation as both a vocalist and songwriter in the electronic music world. How did you first get into toplining for dance music producers?
As a teenager, I was making music from my bedroom in a small village, and I started connecting with collaborators on SoundCloud. I’d send them vocals, they’d send me beats, and it was these releases that put me on the map in the EDM space.

A lot of DJs say finding the right vocalist can completely transform a track. When you approach a collaboration, what do you try to bring emotionally or creatively?
At the core of my songwriting and production, I’m always finding the edge between something truly unique and something anybody can tap into. My lyrics are empowering and daring, and my melodies are hypnotic and addictive. I like to think that my songs are a mantra for losing yourself on the dancefloor.
You’re both a vocalist and a touring DJ. How has stepping into the DJ booth changed your perspective on making music?
I’m more focused on my audience now than ever, since I meet them every weekend at my shows and I can see how my music impacts them firsthand. I used to write for myself, and now I’m writing for my community.
Over the past few months, you’ve released a string of fantastic tracks including 'How This Ends', 'What U Like', 'LICK IT', and 'Girl on Girl'. What kind of creative phase have you been in lately?
Techno and trance are the two genres that really define me as an artist. However, I love collaborating and bringing my signature vocal into other genres. Lately, I’ve been mixing it up with some tech house vibes in between my own solo drops.
'How This Ends' with Cosmic Gate and AVIRA brings a big melodic trance energy. How did that collaboration come about?
I actually wrote this song a few years ago and I almost forgot it existed. AVIRA and Cosmic Gate found the song from an old link, and they loved it and turned it into the most beautiful melodic trance track. I’m so happy they brought it back to life.
Your solo track 'What U Like' feels quite different from some of your collaborative releases. What was the story behind that record?
'What U Like' is the first single from my debut EP, and the first solo record I’ve dropped for a long time. When I decided to make this EP, I promised myself I wouldn’t overthink the creative process, just make songs that feel 100% me. I surprised myself with a track that is a perfect club-radio crossover, with peak-time mainstage energy and a super catchy vocal. It’s been so cool to see it crushing on Beatport and on US dance radio.
When you’re building a DJ set, how do you balance your own music, collaborations, and tracks from other producers?
The struggle is real! I have my own releases every month, a ton of IDs I want to test, and so many fire tracks from my artist friends that I want to support. In the end, I make a set plan and then end up changing my set when I get on stage because being a DJ is about reading the room and serving the crowd. But this is why it’s great to have a longer set, so I can play more music.

You’ll be performing at MARQUEE Singapore soon. What excites you most about bringing your show to Singapore, and MARQUEE in particular?
This is one of my most exciting shows for 2026 because it kicks off my debut tour around Asia and Australia. It’s my first time in Singapore, and MARQUEE is a legendary club I’ve heard amazing things about. It will be an honour to make my mark here.
Finally, what are your plans for the rest of the year? Any new projects or major gigs that you’re excited about?
I’m very excited about playing EDC Vegas after my Asia and Australia tour. Dropping my EP in July will also be a huge milestone. There are also a couple of big collabs in the works that I know are going to dominate festivals this summer.
