Sentosa’s nightlife circuit has lost one of its flashiest players. Tipsy Unicorn has ceased operations after the High Court ordered its operator, Tipsy Bird, to be wound up.

According to reports, the court placed Tipsy Bird into compulsory liquidation following a winding-up application filed by United Overseas Bank (UOB) over outstanding debts. Liquidators from BDO Advisory have since been appointed to oversee the process of selling the company’s assets and repaying creditors.

The club reportedly stopped operations on 30 January, with the landlord taking back possession of the Siloso Beach premises.

Checks have revealed that bookings are no longer available and the venue is listed as closed, though its Instagram bio currently states “temporarily closed”.

Tipsy Unicorn opened in September 2023 and quickly positioned itself as one of Sentosa’s largest beach clubs, drawing partygoers with its neon-drenched interiors, expansive dance floor and DJ-led programming. It operated under the broader Tipsy Collective hospitality group, which has faced financial difficulties in recent years.

There has been no announcement on whether a new operator will take over the beachfront space. For now, the closure marks the end of a short-lived but high-energy chapter along Siloso Beach.
