Singapore Sports Hub ushers in a new era of excellence, vibrance & community rebranding as The Kallang

The Singapore Sports Hub has been a big part of a wide range of experiences for residents of Singapore. From having hosted some of the biggest athletic events like HYROX and Standard Chartered Singapore Trophy 2022 to being the perfect place to bring music fans together as they sang the night away with Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, BLACKPINK and so many more. Honouring the huge part that it plays in all kinds of cultural experiences, the iconic venue has been renamed The Kallang.

The rebrand to becoming The Kallang opens new doors for the venue and symbolises a major shift toward growth as we usher in a new year of performances and events. The new brand name was officially unveiled by Chairman Keith Magnus and CEO Quek Swee Kuan at a launch event hosted at the Bank of Singapore Lounge in the National Stadium, attended by staff and more than 300 partners across The Kallang’s four key pillars: sport, entertainment, lifestyle, and community.

The story behind the name

The unmistakably Singaporean context behind the word "Kallang" is apparent at every major event from the National Day Parade where we stand up as one to pull out a flawless "Kallang Wave" or where our voices came together as fans rallied behind Team Singapore unleashing the "Kallang Roar". The Kallang was the perfect name for the place that is home for all that energy, capturing our spirit perfectly.

This legacy lays the foundation for The Kallang’s next chapter. Evolving from Singapore Sports Hub, the new identity expands our vision while preserving our sporting roots, uniting sport, entertainment, lifestyle, and community as the core of a vibrant ecosystem.

Capturing the essence of The Kallang

With the beginning of a new chapter titled The Kallang, they're embarking on a new journey defined by their new and improved tagline, "Feel Alive". The creation of the new tagline channels the energy of the four brand values of connection, vibrancy, excellence and leadership — further cementing The Kallang's mission to foster community connections by thoughtfully designing spaces, hosting events, setting milestones, and creating a sense of belonging.

Singapore's most decorated Paralympian Yip Pin Xiu shares her sentiments stating, “For Team Singapore athletes, The Kallang has always been a training ground and stage for world-class excellence. This refreshed identity will continue to inspire the nation and provide a home for iconic sporting moments like the World Aquatics Championships and World Para Swimming Championships.”

Looking ahead

This new beginning spearheads an exciting lineup of new improvements aimed at delivering a better, more immersive experience for all who visit The Kallang.

Visitors to The Kallang can look forward to a vibrant, revitalised waterfront experience featuring new alfresco dining, a sheltered padel hub, upgraded family-friendly play zones, and enhanced climbing and bouldering walls.

Splash-N-Surf will be reimagined as an interactive playscape for children, blending water play with multi-sensory fun, while the dynamic esplanade becomes the new go-to hangout spot to foster a sense of community and relaxation. The phased enhancements begin in the second quarter of 2026, with the revamped mall set to open in 2028, remaining operational throughout the renovations.

Kicking off under its new corporate identity, Countdown 2026 at The Kallang invites everyone to welcome the new year as one. The event features a star-studded concert headlined by K-pop icons Super Junior, family-friendly activities, and Singapore’s longest countdown fireworks this year — 35 minutes of dazzling displays across four chapters over the Kallang Basin.

Adding to the excitement, The Kallang Group unveiled The Kallang Pass, giving one lucky winner a pair of tickets to a range of 2026 events at the National Stadium and Singapore Indoor Stadium. Singapore residents aged 18 can click here and register their interest.

Mr. Magnus added, “As we enter this next phase of growth, we are elevating both the curation and the hardware of the precinct with major upgrades, new national facilities and an even bolder calendar of marquee events. At the same time, we remain grounded in purpose. Since 2023, The Kallang Group has partnered more than 100 charities to create thousands of opportunities for their beneficiaries to enjoy world-class live experiences. We are now exploring a philanthropic fund to give donors and well-wishers a direct role in uplifting the communities we serve. Together, these efforts express who we are today and the kind of impact we aim to make for the future.”

With this new shift toward a more inclusive and holistic Kallang, we invite a plethora of new opportunities with open arms — diversifying the memories and moments that The Kallang will forever more be home to.
