This National Day, StarHub and Bandwagon are inviting Singaporeans to experience home through a different lens — or rather, through a different listen.
Launched on 30 July, the two homegrown brands have unveiled Sounds of Home, an original music project that transforms the familiar sounds of everyday Singapore into a heartfelt soundtrack celebrating the people, places and moments that connect us.
Created as part of StarHub's ongoing The Power of Pause initiative, the collaboration encourages people to take a break from constant scrolling and reconnect with the sounds that often fade into the background of daily life. Rather than focusing on grand National Day spectacles, Sounds of Home shines a spotlight on the small moments that quietly define what it means to call Singapore home.
Produced by acclaimed Singaporean producer, artist and composer Fauxe, the track is built entirely from authentic field recordings captured across the island. The sonic palette draws from bustling hawker centres, neighbourhood playgrounds, MRT stations and everyday conversations, weaving these familiar sounds into an original composition that reflects the rhythm of life in Singapore. Joining the project are homegrown artists RENE, Krysta Joy, YAØ and Akeem Jahat, who bring the soundtrack to life with an accompanying visual film inspired by everyday moments shared across the country.
The collaboration also marks an intersection between technology, music and wellbeing. While StarHub connects millions of people every day through digital services, The Power of Pause serves as a reminder that meaningful human connection often begins when people put their devices down and become fully present.
"National Day is a time to reflect on what brings us together as Singaporeans. While we often celebrate the big moments, it's the everyday sounds around us, from familiar voices and neighbourhoods to shared experiences, that remind us what home feels like," said Lin Liangmin, Head of Brand and Communications at StarHub.
"Through Sounds of Home, we hope to encourage Singaporeans to pause, listen a little more closely, and reconnect with the moments that matter most."
For Bandwagon, the project also represents an opportunity to explore music in one of its purest forms: storytelling through sound.
"At Bandwagon, we've spent years championing Singapore's music scene, so we're always thinking about how sound can tell stories and create meaningful connections," said Clarence Chan, Founder & CEO of Bandwagon.
"Working closely with StarHub, we saw the potential in the everyday sounds we often take for granted, yet instinctively associate with home, and set out to reimagine them as an original piece of music. Every rhythm, bassline and melody is crafted from the sounds of Singapore. We hope people have fun spotting the familiar sounds woven into the song, while being reminded that, much like music, it's the many small moments of connection that come together to make Singapore feel like home."
As Singapore celebrates its 61st National Day, Sounds of Home offers a fresh way of reflecting on identity and belonging. Instead of commemorating the occasion through spectacle alone, the project celebrates the ordinary sounds that accompany everyday life — reminding listeners that home is found not only in familiar places, but also in shared experiences and fleeting moments that often go unnoticed.
The project premieres today via StarHub's LinkedIn page and Bandwagon's social media channels. The full soundtrack will also be available on Spotify, Apple Music and other major streaming platforms.
