Taku Iwasaki has dropped a heavy-hitting taste of what's to come from the gritty world of Gachiakuta. Released 22 August, the Gachiakuta (Original Series Soundtrack EP) is now streaming globally via Milan Records.
The new EP is a sonic glimpse into the dark dystopia of the anime series, based on the hit manga by Kei Urana. The full season one soundtrack is still on the way, but this seven-track preview dives straight into the chaos and catharsis of Rudo’s descent into the underworld.
From the cinematic intensity of 'The Purge Directive' to the slick, pulse-raising collabs with Lotus Juice, IGOR, and Shinya Ogura, Iwasaki’s score doesn’t just accompany the story—it rips through it.
“Hope you enjoy it and vibe with it,” shares the legendary composer behind Bungo Stray Dogs, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal. “If it helps you dive into the world of Gachiakuta even more, that’d make me really happy.”
Gachiakuta is now streaming on Crunchyroll.
