I WANT IT unveils a new side of STAYC's musical identity as they blend their distinct bright and bubbly sound with a more chill and laid-back attitude to capture the spirit of summer in the tracks.
The three-track release includes, 'I WANT IT' along with, 'BOY' and 'Honestly(반칙)'.
The track 'I WANT IT' is an electronic dance-pop song with a powerful synth riff and rhythmic progression that creates a catchy hook, staying true to STAYC's unique musical flair. The lyric “Good things we ok” captures their overall message of always staying true to yourself and living life one day at a time while presenting unwavering resilience in the face of any adversities.
The music video released alongside the title track follows STAYC as they work at a drive-in car wash showing them breaking out their confident and peppy dance moves that strike a sense of empowerment and encouragement within the viewer to always say, "Whatever, just go for it!" when they are encounter any hurdles.
Demonstrating the band's versatility across genres, the next track 'BOY' presents a totally different feel with its mid-tempo urban pop sound layered with dreamy synths over an 808 bassline. The lyrics mirror the sassy and edgy music direction of the track—capturing the light, nervous thrill of new love, which adds a dimension of relatability to the song.
