Born in Singapore and having spent time in Hong Kong, UK, and the U.S. studying at Stanford University, MJ a.k.a MMXJ has drawn inspiration from around the globe. A self-taught musician, he picked up the guitar at 8-years-old and the piano at 12, with early influences being Jason Mraz and John Mayer. His drive led him to becoming a finalist in the 3rd season of Singapore Idol.He began taking his love for music even further by exploring his sounds in Electronic Dance Music after watching Alesso, Madeon and Porter Robinson perform at the renowned Coachella Arts and Music Festival in California. The 27th of November will mark an important milestone in MMXJ’s musical journey as he launches his debut album, Into The Wild.
