5 Records I Want For Record Store Day, according to Darker Than Wax's RAH

Record Store Day presents an array of exclusive titles every year, and every wantlist is usually unique. Instead of merely listing out the records to get, we've roped in some fellow music nerds and record collectors to talk about the records they want to get from 2016's Record Store Day.

As Darker Than Wax's leading lady and Revision Music's co-founder, we already knew that RAH's (real name Farah Azizan) knowledge in music was as deep as it is discerning.

Which is exactly why we got the celebrated selector to give us her vinyl wishlist.

BANDWAGON TV

Outkast | 'Elevators (Me & You)'

Me and youuu...your momma and your cousin tooooo… one of the most infectious songs by one of my favourite duos.

Sun Ra | We Travel The Spaceways

I gotta pick one jazz record out of the list, and this is it.

The Turtles | 'Happy Together'

This is such a foolproof feel good song, and it reminds me of that Cadbury chocolate ad.

Cho-Cho and Dasheen | Cool Pool Reggae

This is a random pick, “reggae” and “cool pools” what’s not to like? Poolside irie chillin’. This 45 also has a limited run of 500, so bragging rights.

Al Escobar | 'Rhythmagic'

This is my favourite out of my picks. Love the sexy energy and it’s something that I will definitely play out, and I can imagine this whole LP being on the future seasons of Narcos.

For this year's Record Store Day in Singapore, Vinylicious Records and The Analog Vault will be bringing in a limited amount of exclusive titles from the official RSD catalogue.

Stand a chance to win a Bandwagon goody bag with vinyl, CD and merch (worth $150) when you purchase RSD titles from either store and sign up for our mailing list there.
