Identité: Rebirth - 10 Bands, 10 Years

Celebrate 10 glorious years of RSC in Identité's Rebirth, featuring the best of Singapore's homegrown music and artists. 10 great bands - including Plainsunset, ANECHOIS, Paris In The Making, Weish and more - will be gracing the stage from 8PM to the wee hours of 3 in the morning as we commemorate the final Identité show at Home Club. As an added sweetener to show, each performing band will be covering a song from an Identité alumni as a fitting tribute to Singapore music.

Darker Than Wax: Beats N Beyond w/ Scratcha DVA

Darker Than Wax's monthly forward-thinking event returns this May with UK bass/house maestro Scratcha DVA! The Hyperdub alumni has been a driving force in the education of intelligent dance music through his monthly Hyberdub show on Rinse FM, pushing forward the boundaries of bass music that continues to defy expectations (and blow minds). Catch him live at Gem Bar level 2 with special guests William J and Marcoweibel.

Blue Hour Sessions

We're sad to see Lomography Blue Hour Sessions go, but the visual arts x music series will be holding a pretty solid finale come 3rd May with the sterling likes of Monster Cat, Astreal, The Analog Girl and Bani Haykal! Physical EPs will only be limited to 36 copies only, so be sure to get yours on the day itself, and be quick about it.

Deafheaven Live In Singapore

They're a black metal band who listen to Drake and K-Ci & JoJo, have amassed fans from all genres, and know how to kick ass at a live show. All you have to do is watch a Deafheaven video on YouTube and know how intense, mad, and fun it is to witness them in the flesh. And you will. When they arrive here in May at Beep City Studios with Paris In The Making as guests - thanks to KittyWu Records & Incursive Productions - we will all be ready to dream.

Anger Management Fest

It looks to be a spectacular music-filled day at The Substation come May 4th in Anger Management Fest, featuring 13 solid bands from Singapore, around the region and the United States. Expect the likes of ska punk ensemble Big D & The Kids Table (US), punk rock quartet RVIVR (US), skramz outfit Sjanse (SG), hardcore punk stalwarts Monument X (TH) and many, many more in this ska-pop-punk-hardcore mini festival.

Tortoise Live In Singapore

If you love your post-rock as much as we do, then you have to be familiar with one of the genre's progenitors: Tortoise. Cerebral, hypnotic and definitely not for the plain-minded, the Chicago quartet have been at it with their jazzy, ambient instrumental compositions since 1990, and they're still as compelling as ever before. Marking a return to Singapore since their last show here at the Esplanade, the good folks of Symmetry Entertainment are bringing them to Aliwal Arts Centre on 13 May for a night of mind-bending tunes.

Postiljonen Live In Singapore

Skyer, the title of the debut album by Scandinavian trio Postiljonen is the Norwegian word for 'clouds' - which also comes to mind if you listen to their dreamy, dewy pop tunes. Achingly idyllic and unabashedly smooth, they'll be bringing their ethereal musical charms to Singapore pretty soon thanks to Other Sounds. Also of interest, do check out their gossamer-esque reinterpretation of a Whitney Houston song.

Bassic: Disclosure

It's pretty hard not to like Disclosure - the Lawrence brothers made one of the boisterously, unashamedly catchy electronic records with last year's Settle. The English lads will be landing right here at ZOUK for a DJ set in bassic on 17 May with Jeremy Boon, and you can bet your asses that it'll be a teeming affair. Advance tickets selling fast!

2Cellos Live In Singapore

The Croatian cello duo found tremendous fame after uploading their popular cello covers of contemporary songs such as Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal", Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze", Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and many more on YouTube - gaining over 440,000 subscribers and counting. They've played at the historic Arena Pula, played together with Red Hot Chili Peppers and count Elton John as one of their fans, and now LAMC is proud to bring the talented duo here for an exclusive show at The Star Theatre.
