Blues rock group The General Strike and UPRISING rapper/emcee BLKD are set to travel to Taiwan to perform for and integrate with migrant Filipinos. The musicians will be taking part in Project Sound of Strike, a cultural exchange initiative between progressive Filipino musicians and the Taiwanese people. July's theme is "Voice Out" and will feature a series of gigs, talks and exhibitions on the history of martial law in the Philippines and Taiwan.
Sound of Strike, a send-off gig for The General Strike and BLKD, is happening on July 20, 8 PM at Tomato Kick Morato. The musicians will be joined by Wilderness, Ericson Acosta, KM64, and guest Taiwanese artists, Li Wen Chou and Si Manpang. Entrance is free.
