Britney sets lip-syncing allegations to rest by killing it at 'Happy Birthday'

Over the years, host of allegations have been levelled against 90s pop star Britney Spears. The most prevalent of these criticisms have been that she’s the queen of lip-syncing, an allegation which she has taken within her stride but has kept mum on thus far.

Britney opened up about this at a press briefing last week as well as during her show in Singapore.

Given that her show in Singapore last Friday (30/06) coincided with the birthday of one of her bodyguards, Jacob, the star sang a birthday song for him on stage, all without a backing track.

While we have no word on the quality of that birthday song, it seems to be a clear sign from her that she’s intent on setting these lip-syncing rumours to rest by proving to the world that she can sing.

Furthermore, in an interview in Tel Aviv responding to her critics, she says: “It's really funny: A lot of people think I don't sing live. ... Because I'm dancing so much, I do have a little bit of playback, but there's a mixture of my voice and the playback. It really pisses me off because I'm busting my ass out there and singing at the same time and nobody ever gives me credit for it, you know?”

Here's the video of her singing the birthday song. What do you think?
