Singaporean four-piece Canvas Conversations haven't had the highest of profiles in the local scene, but those who know the band know that they're of the highest quality.
The young band have been hotly-tipped by industry insiders for some time now, winning the Noise Singapore Award in 2015, and earning new fans through exquisite performances everywhere from Zouk to the Esplanade to the National Gallery.
Most recently though, Canvas Conversations have just put out a brand new full-length LP entitled In Transit. Their conceptual effort "hopes to bring you on a transitional journey through stages of separation, denial, pain, realisation and rest."
In order to achieve that, the band describes drawing sonic "parallels with surgical and aerial processes through sounds, textures, words and melodies."
The result is a contemplative and immersive 34-minute trip that's equal parts Amon Tobin and Imogen Heap, carried elegantly along by healthy doses of electronic experimentation, classical instrumentation and evocative vocals.
