The Genjitsu Stargazing Society are set to mount Cassette Store Day Philippines 2018: Strange Attraction—the first Cassette Store Day event in the country.

With live performances by Memoryville, .wendil, Kino1998, joe-chu, pcastlesss, savedhistory, Ernest:Hope, and Brandon Cueto, Strange Attraction is set to take place at the penthouse level of Creekside Mall in Makati City on October 13 (Saturday).

The upcoming free event will also mount a mini market with exclusive tape releases from United Cassettes and the GSS, second-hand tapes from Magat Brothers, equipment from Spindle Hole Records, handmade art from orngfolds, pocketbluu, Zom Kashwak, and Tonik, and food and drinks from Third Wheel and Nipa Brew. An exclusive limited edition GSS compilation tape of local music called Leaving will also be launched at the show.

Having been established in the UK five years ago, Cassette Store Day is an annual worldwide event inspired by Record Store Day to "celebrate the cassette as a format, along with the entire underground culture surrounding it," according to a press release.
