In the early hours of Tuesday morning (10/05, PHT), Facebook and its many other supported platforms like Instagram, Whatsapp, Messenger, and Oculus faced major outages.
According to reports, users were receiving error messages on Facebook before the platform was completely taken down. The outage lasted for five hours, taking out one of the Internet's most used social platforms.
To the huge community of people and businesses around the world who depend on us: we're sorry. We’ve been working hard to restore access to our apps and services and are happy to report they are coming back online now. Thank you for bearing with us.

Facebook did not confirm a definitive cause for the outage, but representatives from the social platform revealed to the New York Times that it may have been an issue with Facebook's servers, which did not allow users to connect to its apps. This comes as Facebook's latest outage following 2019 when all its services were affected by a technical error for 24 hours.
