Flying Lotus is coming to Singapore

It's been a long time coming, but finally, modern beat producer/experimental hip-hop genius Flying Lotus will be performing in Singapore for the first time.

The Los Angeles-based producer will be coming down on May 26th, performing at The Coliseum, Hard Rock Hotel Singapore (UPDATE: The venue has been changed to Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre Hall 606).

SingJazz Festival 2016 helped made it possible for us to bring you this week's news. (What is this?)

Sing Jazz returns for its third run, featuring a stunning array of modern and legendary acts over one weekend. Use our promo code JAZZ4BANDWAGON for 10% off advance tickets.

The show is the first by The Gathering this year, who brought down an array of acts last year with a festival under their namesake. The show is also under The Gathering Series, which previously featured CHVRCHES, Darkside, Tenacious D, Empire of the Sun, The Flaming Lips, Biffy Clyro, Rhye and many more.

The producer is best known for his idiosyncratic and groundbreaking style of electronic music that fuses hip-hop, jazz, IDM, ambient and more into one eccentric brew.

Flying Lotus last released You're Dead in 2014, his most jazz-oriented work to date. A single off the album, 'Never Catch Me', featuring Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar, was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the awards show.
