Fred Perry marks Record Store Day with contests, tote bags and two nights of DJ sets

Record Store Day (RSD) is just round the corner on 21 April, and Fred Perry has lots of festivities planned.

This year, the clothing label will be working with 12 local record stores to hold a month-long ‘Scratch & Win’ contest, and will be releasing an exclusive range of RSD tote bags.

Shoppers at participating record stores are entitled to a shot at the the ‘Scratch & Win’ contest with every $50 spent in a single receipt from now till 30 April. Prizes include an Audio-Technica turntable and Fred Perry X-mini speaker.

Exclusive RSD tote bags available in four themes will also come complimentary with every purchase made at selected record shops and Fred Perry Authentic Shops. The range is designed by local and international illustrators, including Singaporean designer Ella Zheng and Malaysian graphic designer Valen Lim

BANDWAGON TV

Local DJs and producers will also take over Internet radio station Singapore Community Radio for two nights under Fred Perry's banner. ‘An Indie Disco Riot’ on April 18 will be led by Xes Xes Loveseat (pictured, middle), KidG, Ginette Chittick and Cherie Ko (pictured, left), while ‘The Reggae-Funk Blowout' takes over on April 19 with Ruud (pictured, right), Ras Irie, Rah, and Drem. 

SCR will be live-streaming both shows, featuring visuals by Empyreal. There’s a perk for online viewers as well – there will be the opportunity to score new vinyl releases by Albert Hammond Jr. and AWOLNATION.
