Laneway Festival has announced its first wave of acts for 2018, and if you're a fan of most of them, it is quite overwhelming.

They contain some of the torchbearers of alternative music today — Mac DeMarco and his laid-back persona, Father John Misty and his subversive form of indie folk (along with his highly controversial public persona), Slowdive and their innovative work in the shoegaze genre, Wolf Alice and their bold reimagining of grunge, Anderson .Paak and his winnable form of R&B, and The War On Drugs' beautiful sonic kaleidoscope. 

There's also plenty of new acts to get acquainted with, but if you've been a devoted follower of the festival regardless, it'll do you good to study up all the acts that have been announced so far. Here it is if you missed it earlier today.
