LISTEN: Maricelle questions love and chases dreams on her debut EP, Pursuit

Coming strong off a pair of well-received lead singles in 'Lovedrunk' and 'Lucky Ones', singer-songwriter Maricelle has finally dropped her freshman record in full today.

Titled Pursuit, the independent artist's debut EP is a bright, invigorating and extremely catchy blend of contemporary R&B and electronic pop. While certainly dynamic and anthemic, the real weight behind her songwriting is indeed Maricelle's personal perspectives on life and love within Singapore's unique cityscape.

As Maricelle expains, "It’s an honest manifestation of my mind, a culmination of all the life experiences that got me here."

While euphoric tracks like 'Lucky Ones' and 'Up All Night' revolve around either cherishing or chasing after important, passionate moments - on the flip side - a song like 'Quick Fix' is unafraid to go darker in dealing with the "superficiality of shallow relationships" and "the disposability of people in today's hook-up culture."

The five-track effort is entirely written by Maricelle herself, with production and mixing from James Lye, and mastering from Björn Engelmann (Tove Lo, Alesso, Zara Larsson) in Sweden.

The EP is now available on Spotify, iTunes and other digital platforms today.
