Meet 88rising's latest addition, 19-year-old R&B star Lexie Liu

88rising, the Asia-championing mass media conglomerate and record label, which has signed the likes of Rich Brian, Joji and NIKI, welcomed Lexie Liu, one of China's most promising new exports to the global music scene.

The 19-year-old started her music career at a young age, learning dance and piano, among other skills. With her talents honed over time, she joined a couple of competitions, including the popular reality Korean TV series K-pop Star 5. After which, she turned down a deal with a notable South Korean record label in favour of working as an independent artist in China.

With the name-establishing hit 'Coco Made Me Do It', and her cover of Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez's 'We Don't Talk Anymore', which garnered over nine million views online, she affirmed her street-ready style to the world.

On 'Like A Mercedes', the singer and rapper spotlights her sultry vocals amidst dangerously danceable beats and showcases her ability to switch between English and Chinese lyrics seamlessly. Quite frankly, we cannot wait to hear more from her.

With this signing, 88rising proves itself to be on the vanguard of thoroughly contemporary and progressive music yet again.
