From nu-jazz to neo-soul: New party series Reverie dreams of a soulful club experience

Looking for an alternative to the the typical "hype party"? Well look no further than new series Reverie.

Founded by Phyla's Finding Niko and Knight Runners' Ashe Narayan, the night looks to focus on "laid-back and soulful vibes, keeping things real chill, while still maintaining a level of groove throughout the night."

From Dilla-influenced hip-hop beats, trip hop and nu-jazz to broken beat, neo-soul and R&B slow jams - Reverie presents refreshing counter-programming to the banger-filled, thumping events that populate the mainstream nightlife calendar.

Whether you want to move on the dancefloor or simply sit back and relax, this night's downtempo, lo-fi and beat-driven sounds presents an uncommon option for those looking for a lighter night out.

BANDWAGON TV

Hosted by Finding Niko himself, the series will also feature a rotating cast of special guests such as HailiPrema, Phyla bossman Harv, CÉ LA VI's Sivanesh and Anand and Singapura Dub Club's Reiki

Having already held successful events at hotspots like Red Baron and Artistry in recent months, Reverie will be looking to continue lay down their left-field deep grooves at Kilo Lounge (Thursday, 16 February) and Red Tail (Friday, 24 February) this February.

In the meantime, here's a wonderful little playlist put together by Finding Niko to help you daydream of Reverie.
