Noise Music Mentorship 2017 adds two new mentors and digital documentation

Aspiring to be an established singer-songwriter like iNCH or Linying? Have a great band like Bakers In Space or SUBSONIC EYE, but you're just looking for a little bit of veteran guidance?

Well the long-running Noise Music Mentorship (NMM) might just be the next step nurture your passion for music to greater heights. 

Known to be a platform that encourages young Singaporeans to participate in the arts actively, NMM return bigger and better than ever this year to help burgeoning local musicians "develop confidence and work alongside music industry gurus". 

In partnership with National Arts Council (NAC) and Noise Singapore, industry partner Thunder Rock School has added two amazing new mentors to the mentorship programme this year – progressive rock guitarist Simon Yong and esteemed producer, Kevin Foo!

Other mentors include Clement Yang, Inch Chua, Jack Ho, Martin Kong, Sara Wee and Vanessa Fernandez.

As Thunder Rock School Ian Toh promises, the programme hopes to “help the mentees bond so as to establish a more united music scene".

Selected participants (limited to applicants aged 35 and below) will be attached to a mentor and undergo extensive courses and professional workshops. By the end of the programme, they will have major showcases and live recording sessions at Snakeweed Studio.

Aside from the two new mentor additions, Noise Music Mentorship 2017 will document the entire mentorship process and release short episodes across various social media platforms for audiences to gain insights to the mentorship journey.

Last year, there were 21 bands and artistes selected out of 300 applicants, culminating in a grand final showcase held at Keong Saik Road, in collaboration with Urban Ventures. 

Alumnus of this program such as iNCH and Tim de Cotta have publicly credited NMM as a fruitful jumping off point in their music careers, highlighting the wealth of advise of knowledge and confidence to be gained.
