Last year, M1LDL1FE released their debut, self-titled EP, including their shimmering, synthy take on 21st century love and loneliness, 'Super Algorithm Digital Me.' Now, the indie pop band have released THIEVVES' remix of the track, featuring Joie Tan – one remix of many collected in a new EP out 23 March.
“We saw that THIEVVES has done some cool retro-futuristic stuff with Jasmine Sokko and Sherlyn (Disco Hue), so when it came to the slightly dystopian theme of 'Super Algorithm Digital Me', his name came up," M1LDL1FE told Bandwagon.

THIEVVES, who is also a member of Disco Hue, also points out that his band's track 'Plastic Hearts' deals with very similar issues: "I think the message that M1LDL1FE were putting across in the song is a real issue that most of us face – how social media is now a big part of our everyday lives and how most people long for validation from 'followers'.
"However, sometimes we're too quick to judge on the emotional process these people go through and I felt the need to add/create another character to play the opposite role [to] Paddy's in the song.”
That's where Joie comes in as M1LDL1FE's foil, singing as a character who, like most of us, is very much a self-aware consumer of social media and willing participant in digitally-mediated relationships: "Addicted to the way you make me feel / Seeking to find, always behind." Among the bells and whistles THIEVVES has embellished 'Super Algorithm Digital Me' with, roping Joie in to embody another lonely voice in M1LDL1FE's digital dark might have been the sharpest decision.
