SGMUSO Live Showcase: Caracal and THELIONCITYBOY in the Big Apple

The cat is out of the bag!

Eminent local post-hardcore band Caracal and rapper/producer THELIONCITYBOY (TLCB) aka Kevin Lester will be the two main headliners for SGMUSO's Live Showcase in New York. The collaborative effort by The Music Society, Singapore (SGMUSO) and Singapore Tourism Board (STB) will see the both bands play Madison Square Park 23 to 27 September.

Selected from over 70 applicants, Caracal and TLCB were the preferred choices of the selection panel, comprising of Singaporean and American music industry players. That being said, this will not be the first time either of these bands played in the US of A.

Take TLCB for example. Having toured the Big Apple three times previously, the rapper makes no qualms about calling it his “second home in my music journey”. The artist, who recently dropped his new single, ‘Light It For Me’, goes so far as to call some of his American collaborators “family” after playing with them in community shows and at the CMJ Music Festival.

Caracal, on the other hand, will use this opportunity to inspire everyday Singaporeans to a life of music. That won’t be hard considering what consummate music professionals they have been throughout their career. Ever since releasing their sophomore album, Welcome The Ironists last year, the five-piece band has been selected to play at this year’s Summer Sonic Festival and is embarking on a five-date tour of Japan!

Wish them all the best for their upcoming gig and leave them with these words from Frank Sinatra’s ‘New York, New York’, “If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.”
