The SAE Experience: Open Day 2013

ESTIMATED

School doesn’t always have to be about boring textbooks, mundane routines, and tiresome homework. Unless you’re still in high school (we kid, we kid). But if stuffy tertiary institutions are really not your thing and you find yourself wondering about a career in creative media, there is a place for you.

Enter the place and the first thing you notice is the name of cities surrounding the clock on the wall. We ask, "Are those all the cities where there is an SAE Institute?" Marketing manager, Daniel Rucerito tells us that it is only the names of the 'bigger cities' (there are smaller cities too!). Someone comes in through the reception area and jokes with Christine, who is also the Sales & Marketing Executive for Student Recruitment; and then Daniel leads us around for a tour of the school grounds.

A walkabout the place would find well facilitated media labs, a green room, an outdoor balcony overlooking the river, someone mixing a track on one of the Mac computers provided, another one editing a martial arts video, group discussions on storyboarding, a friendly chat with a staff member in the communal area - none of that squarish, bookish nonsense associated to institutions. We also walked in on someone in the middle of an audio exam, they were kind enough to let us sit in. SAE is vibrant, friendly and definitely the place to be for the creatively inclined.

Located at The Riverwalk in the vicinity of Clarke Quay, the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) Institute offers both local and international students a wide spectrum of creative media-based courses. With over 50 brances worldwide, SAE offers quality hands-on training and practical experience and produce students that are well groomed for a career in creative media.

With five lecture rooms, sufficient media labs and studios and numerous practical workstations, there are more than adequate facilities for the students to hone their craft. It was quite a sight to see the students sprawled all over the mini campus working on their individual projects, the community and open vibes made SAE a conducive place for the students’ creativity.

By offering specialised trainers and experts in their field, dedicated lecturers and staff, state-of-the-art facilities and a dynamic educational environment, you can be assured that SAE is constantly aiming to provide a quality course to their students.
