Infusing colloquial terms into hip-hop has been done time and time again, but THELIONCITYBOY takes it up a notch with 'Start Already'.
A minimal beat underlines THELIONCITYBOY's paean to Singaporean life, with a stylized music video by director Vadbibes. The song's video, recently released by the Singaporean rapper, lends a peek into an overtly grim and farcical Singapore, littered with a liberal amount of lyrical and visual references — coffee shop teh, GIRO bills, HDB gang fighters, and sitcom Under One Roof.
It's gloriously over-the-top, in ways we have never seen from a Singaporean music video — much less one that features the country so heavily. There will be blood.
'Start Already' is THELIONCITYBOY's latest single from his latest album, Paradise.
