Biography

Combining classical finger style with a pop-jazz orientation, Daniel brings a wider range of sound to the bands he plays in. His finger style technique enables him to play a ‘band in the guitar’ or ‘self-accompanied solo guitar’ style. This is achieved by simultaneously playing chords, bass lines and the melody with only one guitar. Boasting a mixture of Latin, Jazz and Funk, Daniel’s unique style lies in his constant exploration of new guitar sounds. Daniel started learning guitar as a hobby. After completing his engineering studies, he decided to become a professional guitarist. Daniel played as a resident musician mostly in five-star hotels in Surabaya, such Shangri-La, JW Marriot, The Westin, Sheraton and Hyatt. Over the span of his career, he has also played for many corporate and private functions, and even with celebrities like Indonesian Diva Ruth Sahanaya, Shanti MTV. In Singapore, Daniel has played with Babes Conde (Singapore Idol’s vocal coach) for the 1st anniversary of the Esplanade; with Jose Mari Chan (Filipino Diva) at Victoria Concert Hall; at Kumar's Valentine show 2005; with Babes Conde again at the Esplanade Concert Hall (Chinese Golden Hits 80's); with Adlan Cruz (well-known Puerto Rican pianist) for his concert in Singapore; at a trio performance at outdoor stage Esplanade; at a solo and duet at the concourse Esplanade; at Robert Fernando’s concert 2007.
