Biography

Dawn Fung is a folk singer-songwriter. Her music employs biblical and folk imagery to produce docu-narrative visions of conflict, faith and glory. In June 2009, Dawn Fung released her first album, The Last Morning, which received favourable reviews from The Straits Times and CreateLeVoyage.com. In March 1 2013, she released her second album, In the Evening Sun. In the Evening Sun is a sophisticated development of Dawn’s deep interest in stories, themes around time and eternity. It features harmonium, cello, winds and things and the usual languid beauty in collaboration with her musicians. Dawn Fung is influenced by the 60s folk revivalists especially Anne Briggs, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger and contemporary folk singers like Kate Rusby.
