Biography

Divine Sutra is an Indie Band based in Singapore. Divine Sutra was formed 10 years ago by 2 school friends Jayaprakash and Venu. Divine Sutra songs are self composed in Tamil and English with musical Influences from the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Kula Shaker, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, MUSE, Indian Songwriters illayaraja, AR Rahman and Karnatic soul music from India. Their vision is to be a universal band that would want to capture the masses with their independent and soulful music. Divine Sutra plans to release their 2nd album a 1st of a trilogy entitled “REDIVINE 1 – Tales of Neela Dey” in late 2011. Tales of Neela Dey will show the band’s journey from songs written from 2006 onwards including a track entitled Sangiva which was written for the victims in Tamil Nadu during the Tsunami. Divine Sutra also plans to start up their own foundation called “The Indus Rock Valley Project”. This non profit foundation is to promote the love of music to Indian children from needy and dysfunctional families by end 2011.
