Biography

Nastia is an experimental alternative rock band born of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This first runner up for 2011 Suriashowdown battle of the band consists of three prime colors which are Leo Azman as the melodious lead vocalist and dynamic keyboardist who writes Nastia's lyrics, Rudy Iskandar as the brilliant guitarist and pianist cum the chief song writer, and Zach Zainal Zainir as the groovy bassist and keyboardist. Nastia has four sessionist which are Taqi on percussions/acoustic guitar/synth, Jenk on drums, Izzat on Bass and AG Coco on guitar. Although this band has U.K. bands such as Keane, Coldplay and Kasabian as their influence, Nastia fashioned their own trait by crafting their own genre. Nastia inoculates many folk, pop and rock elements to their songs that are jived in with the lyrics. That instills melodramatic and cinematographic attitude in the polychrome of Nastia’s music as Nastia experiments a lot through the elements of art and film. Guitar is not Nastia’s song drive but it is their members’ combination which hues the creativity and originality of Nastia’s songs. In 2012, this independent band has released an EP called ‘Xpresi’ which received tremendous positive feedback from their fans all over Malaysia. This success enthused Nastia to climb higher on the ladder of success by coming out with a debut album. They are now in the process of recording ‘Esok Belum Tiba’ which is going to be produced by AG Coco. Fans view Nastia’s music as capacious yet not overstated, soothing yet not looming and reverberating yet not muffling. They are not faced with any hiccups in producing their materials in Malay as they believe the ears and the hearts of their fans.
