BlackKajiXtra - Nusasonic 2019

SYNOPSIS

“Centrifugal radiation
Somatic mutations
Black suns evaporate from our
Archipelago minds”

In collaboration with the Goethe-Institut, BlackKaji mutates into its most provocative bumper edition to date with BlackKajiXtra – Nusasonic. Featuring two packed nights of music and discourse, this edition is part of Nusasonic, a cultural programme that adopts a multi-perspective approach, exploring how contemporary sound practices enable connections and dialogues within the Southeast Asian region, and with Europe.

BACKGROUND

- Nusasonic – Crossing Aural Geographies is an initiative of Goethe-Institut Southeast Asia and is a collaboration between CTM Festival (Berlin), Yes No Klub (Yogyakarta), WSK Festival for the Recently Possible (Manila), and Playfreely/BlackKaji (Singapore). The project kicked-off with a two week long Artistic Lab and Festival in Yogyakarta in October 2018.
- BlackKaji is a series conceived by The Observatory and Ujikaji. A study of the unseen, unsound, unsuspecting, unsustainable, unstable. More information of Nusasonic: https://www.goethe.de/prj/nus/en/index.html
