IGNITE! Music Festival 2019

Republic Polytechnic’s (RP) annual music festival – IGNITE! Music Festival 2019 – returns with its 12th edition showcasing the best in Singapore’s music scene for FREE! Starting 12th July, the two-week long festival features exciting fringe programs leading up to the main festival showcase held at the RP Lawn Stage on 26th and 27th July.

With the theme “Passion and Compassion”, the student-driven festival hopes to follow in the footsteps of great music festivals around the world to utilise the power of music in promoting youth volunteerism. Over two weeks, more than 500 RP students will take on various roles in production, stage management, film, event management, artiste liaising and many others.

Festival highlights include:

• Exciting performances during the main festival showcase by local favourites ShiGGa Shay, Yung Raja X Fariz Jabba, Subsonic Eye, Bakers In Space, brb., Cosmic Child, FERS, Astronauts, YAØ, Sun Eater and Fingerfunk;
• IGNITE! Band Auditions VII to give up-and-coming bands an opportunity to perform in front of an audience of thousands during the main festival showcase;
• The Busker’s Fiesta featuring popular local buskers The Moon House, Wafiq Hadee and Harris Osman;
• The Festival Village, a space which showcases a total of 25 booths decorated to suit the atmosphere of the Festival, including 10 F&B booths and 5 Sponsor booths
