Korean acoustic-folk indie singer\, 10cm (Kwon Jung-yeol)\, will be performing together with his band in Singapore for the first time e ver on 18 November 2019\, 8PM at Esplanade Annexe Studio.
\n\n10cm is the original voice behind the OST hits &ldquo\;My Eyes&rdquo\; from 2017 m ost talk-about Korean drama Goblin (starring Gong Yoo) and &ldquo\;Lean On Me&rdquo\; from 2019 hottest Korean drama Hotel Del Luna (starring IU).
\n\nDebut in 2010\, 10cm walked into the indie scene with their first EP and has since became a household name in Korea. 10cm was initially a Korea n indie duo and the name of the band refers to height difference of the two members. Due to personal reason\, the guitarist (Yoon Cheol-jong) had to l eave the group. Main vocalist\, Kwon Jung-yeol however still continue as a one-man band on his own under the name of 10cm bringing acoustic-folk music to their fans.
\n\nSince the first EP release\, they released their most well-known hit single &ldquo\;Americano&rdquo\;. The single was soon w ell-received by many and became popular in Korea because of its lively melo dy and fun to sing-along lyrics\, together with the melodious voice of Kwon Jung-yeol.
\n\nTheir first official album &ldquo\;1.0&rdquo\; releas ed in the following year sold over 20\,000 copies which was remarkable in t he era whereby consumers have the tendency to download music online. This a lso shows that there is a strong niche following in the acoustic-folk genre in Korea. 10cm won &ldquo\;This Year&rsquo\;s Discovery Award&rdquo\; at t he 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards\, and &ldquo\;Best Pop Song Award&rdquo\; f or &ldquo\;Tonight I&rsquo\;m Crazy&rdquo\; at the 2011 Korean Music Awards .
\n\nIn the same year of the release of their debut album\, their so ng &ldquo\;Hold Me&rdquo\; reached #16 on Billboard K-Pop Hot 100. A remake of the song\, titled &ldquo\;Hug Song&rdquo\;\, was released in 2013 as a collaboration between 10cm and Orange Caramel. Another successful hit singl e\, &ldquo\;What The Spring??&rdquo\; peaked at #1 in Korea&rsquo\;s Gaon M usic Chart in 2016.
\n\nChen from EXO had mentioned on a radio show t hat 10cm was one of his dream collaborators as he had been listening to his music since high school. In 2017\, dream was made into a reality as 10cm a nd Chen co-wrote a new song &ldquo\;Bye Babe&rdquo\; together. The funky po p/rock track has a bubbly folk vibe\, with a mix of sweet and emotive vocal blend together over the sweet melody.
\n\n10cm (Kwon Jung-yeol) also participated in popular Korean singing variety show\, King of Mask Singer. His voice captivated the audience and panel of celebrities whom they caste d their instant live votes for him which eventually led him to having two c onsecutive wins as Mask King.
