Armen Doneyan began his study of the guitar at the age of six with Alexandre Gérard. He continued his musical education with Daniel Lavialle, then with Ramon de Herrera at the Paris Conservatoire National de Region and obtained the first prize in 2008.

Entering the Aulnay-sous-Bois Conservatoire à Rayonement Départemental the same year, he studied with Judicaël Perroy. Two years later, while he was still studying with Judicaël Perroy, he entered the Paris Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique to also study with Roland Dyens and Jean Marc Zvellenreuther, and obtained his master degree in 2015. He also follows Jeremy Jouve's advises during summer classes and master classes.

Armen won several competition such as 1st prize at the Ivor Mairants competition (London) 2012, 2nd prize at the Guitar Foundation of America, (USA) 2015, Heinsberg competition (Germany),.Pisa competition (Italy) 2014 and Antony competition (France) 2015

His passion for chamber music made him to form a duo with the French cellist Michèle Pierre, the Duo Solea. They explore the guitar-cello's repertoire while also working with composers.

Armen is laureate of the Banque Populaire Fondation, and plays Savarez strings.
