Alan & Evan

The ukulele has always been a traditional musical instrument, unique to Hawaii since 1879. Being the passionate fans that they are, join Alan and Evan as they whisk you through different eras and music genres on this humble four-stringed instrument.

Alan Soo has been playing the ukulele since 2007. Public performances include Singapore’s Hard Rock Café at Orchard Road and Singapore’s Ukulele Festival in 2014, 2015 and 2016. He performs at weddings, and has performed at Singapore artiste Stefanie Sun’s nuptials. Alan appeared at Bangkok Ukulele Festival in 2012 and 2013. He was featured on NanYou magazine, Channel 8’s HDB Tai Tai, Channel U’s Style Check-In, ChannelNewsAsia’s Chasing Happiness and OKTO’s Knockout Carnival. A ukulele instructor with UKULELE MOVEMENT for the past six years, he teaches individual, group and corporate classes.

Evan Joel De Silva is an 11-year-old boy with three years of ukulele experience who aspires to be a virtuoso. He is a student at UKULELE MOVEMENT, has performed for ChildAid 2016, and was in the finals of Ribbee’s World Ukulele Championship International Competition 2016.

Both Alan and Evan aim to spread the joy and happiness of music through the ukulele.
