GUSTAV MAHLER) Symphony No. 9 Described as "striking, cinematic and luscious", Ešenvalds' Lakes Awake at Dawn is a stunning showcase for the choruses and orchestra. Wagner's thrilling Finale to Die Meistersinger is guaranteed to raise the roof by force and power. Finally, Beethoven's glorious masterpiece then takes center stage with its timeless message of humanity and brotherhood in a special expanded orchestration by Gustav Mahler. The Orchestra of the Music Makers (OMM) follows its acclaimed performance of Mahler's 8th Symphony, its first large-scale symphonic work with chorus last July with Beethoven's 9th Symphony. The Queensland Festival Chorus returns, and one of Singapore's leading chorus directors Toh Ban Sheng will lead the Maior Chorus in its first symphonic choral performance. An international cast of soloists, including award-winning Singaporean soprano, Janani Sridhar, join OMM and Music Director Chan Tze Law in the Ode to Joy.
