Bennett Bay's New EP - Little Old Town

Following the release of his second album, In Memory Of, in 2018, Bennett Bay returns with a three-song EP titled Little Old Town. Written during a trip to Japan, the EP is inspired by three places he visited alone that spoke to him the most.

Joined by a seven-piece band, Bay and his friends will perform the EP in its entirety, as well as a mixture of old and (even) newer tunes.

“The EP is a short compilation of 3 songs, all written in 3 different places, whilst I was traveling alone in Japan earlier this year.

I felt the need to record and release this small project as the songs reminded me of the connection we have with the world we live in, and that while we may be alone in a seemingly unfamiliar place we are never truly alone, and nothing is completely unfamiliar.

The first song, Kasai, was written during an overcast evening stroll to and from Kasai Rinkai Park, just outside of Tokyo. I was staying alone those couple days because my friends wanted to visit Disneyland.

The second song, Lake Biwa, was written in Otsu at the southern edge of Lake Biwa, the hometown of one of my dearest friends.

The trip there alone was worth it to find out where he grew up in and how vast the lake really was.

The last song, Train to Hikone, was written during the train ride from Otsu to Hikone on an empty train as I passed by fields of paddy. I wanted to see the northern edge of Lake Biwa on the same day that I visited Otsu, and on the train I saw a young lady with her child sitting together alone, that image inspired this song.”
