BRENT ARNOLD (Dubspot Instructor, NYC) - workshop and live performance

Saturday 23rd April, 2016 Workshop: 3-5pm ($30, Limited to 15 participants) Live Performance: 8-10pm (Free, Open to Public) We are proud to present an evening of unorthodox electronic and electric music with a virtuosic guest from New York. Brent Arnold is a cellist and composer who seamlessly whisks his instrument and live looping into songs of unhinged beauty. With techniques inspired from Rock, Jazz, African, Eastern to Arabic music, he fingerpicks the cello like a guitar, pounds it like a piano or builds loops, distortion and mazes of experimental tones to create melodic and multi-layered live compositions. Based in Brooklyn, Arnold is best known for his cello pieces in Louis CK’s acclaimed dark comedy series “Louie”, as well as his work with Reggie Watts, Lenny Kravitz, Amanda Palmer, Death in Vegas, Modest Mouse, The Antlers, Filastine, DJ Rupture, among many others.
