D'J Party 15th Anniversary

D’J Party has come a long way since its inception back in 2003. It started out as a group of Japanese Music enthusiasts during the era where visual kei bands dominated the Japanese rock scene. All they really wanted to do was to play the songs they loved and share that love and passion on a stage with like-minded people. As we did just that, we also hoped to reach out to the public and get them to take notice of Japanese Pop Culture, which to them was something that stood on its own and not limited to just the Japanese people. They started out with just over ten acts during that one weekend day which they so passionately prepared for.

Fast forward 15 years and they have grown their community to one that is cohesive and organic. They now have over thirty acts over an entire weekend, consisting of singing, dancing and band performance categories. It is heartening to know that within and across categories, their acts are collaborating with one another; not just a sign of the growth of our performances but also that of the friendships and bonds forged within the community. Many of them have grown together with D’J Party and from there, formed their own (sometimes dysfunctional but loving) families.
