Disco Edit City with The Reflex ( DTW X CM. Collab)

We are very excited to announce the first of many collabs to happen between Collective Minds x Darker Than Wax .

Let us take you to Disco Edit City where the beats are groovy and the funk is thick.

The Reflex
-
Nile Rodgers is a fan. Kid Creole is a fan. Disclosure, Jazzy Jeff, and Joris Voorn are all fans. From house music royalty Joey Negro, Dimitri from Paris and Mousse T, to the original DJ - remix pioneers John Morales, Greg Wilson, Danny Krivit, and Nicky Siano, all the way to Aeroplane, DJ Marky, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Horse Meat Disco, J.Rocc, Nic Fanciulli, Jazzie B, Cut Killer, Rainer Truby, Acid Arab, Nightmares on Wax… They are all fans of The Reflex.

Fascinated by the remix from an early age, London-based French native Nicolas Laugier, aka The Reflex, takes his cue from the first wave of disco remixers by using only the original sounds from the master tapes (or stems) to breathe new life into soul, pop and disco classics. Imaginative arrangements, boxfresh sonics and intricate editing make The Reflex Revisions rocket fuel for every DJ set.

LADY FLiC

LADY FLiC reps the best in underground music, whether spinning balearic vibes under the coconut trees at sunset or rocking dancefloors from NY to NZ, LADY FLiC has supported legends such as Snoop Dogg, A-trak, MIA, Fatboy Slim, Justice, Derrick May & Kevin Saunderson, Goldie and Mr Scruff, and had personal props for her DJ skills from the likes of John Legend, Mark Ronson, Snoop’s rapper Kurupt, King Britt, Osunlade and Maurice Fulton among others.

FUNK BSTRD

one half of the Cosa nostra duo and co-founder of the prolific net label Darker Than Wax, the Funk Bast*rd has been tirelessly pushing and promoting an alternative expression of leftfield music through his widely eclectic, genre-bending sets. It is no surprise when one hears his musical selection which traverses between a huge variety of musical genres, be it deep jazz, soul, funk, boogie, brazilian grooves, house, hip hop, bass and the most forward sounding beats.

Daryl Chan

As with most love affairs, Daryl C’s liaison with electronic music was honed and fostered in the bedroom, where he first began his knob-fiddling pursuit some eight years ago. Levelling up through years of homemade mixtapes and midnight musical musings, Daryl C has now become a regular fixture in Singapore’s club circuit with an ever-evolving selection stockpile to keep feet moving.
